  • Overview

    We are looking for an energetic, tenacious problem-solving Manufacturing Engineer, with a passion for operations, to join our team and support our rapid growth, in our Doraville GA location. The individual would also ideally possess relevant experience as a shift supervisor in a manufacturing business known for driving continuous operational improvement (safety, quality, throughput & cost).  A natural career progression would have the candidate as a shift supervisor to a manufacturing engineer with goals of being a senior manufacturing engineer.  This position reports to the Operations Manager.


    • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
    • Assures product quality and process yield by developing standard work instructions; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards & leading operator training; confirming manufacturing processes
    • Structures & leads kaizen events to resolve operational issues across the spectrum of safety, quality, throughput & cost; work with operations leaders to implement solutions
    • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
    • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; maintains process database & applies appropriate statistical methods to drive continuous improvement throughout the shop
    • Supports equipment reliability by working with on-site maintenance & OEMs to develop FMEA-based equipment maintenance plans; helps lead plan implementation & on-going maintenance management
    • Develops capex business cases & manages capital requests from start to finish;
    • Improves manufacturing safety & efficiency by analyzing work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline
    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience as operations engineer, OR 5 years’ experience as both an engineer & operations leader
    • Experience as a shift supervisor preferred
    • Builds strong relationships with office & shop floor employees alike;
    • Comfortable on a factory floor & getting hands dirty
    • Possess exceptional analytical & problem-solving abilities;
    • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and demonstrate the ability to determine critical parameters and develop process controls
    • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, statistics and permutations
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products with exceptional capabilities in Excel
    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with a high degree of humility
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be comfortable multi-tasking between projects & moving from the office to the shop floor (and vice / versa) while communicating effectively
