    Navitas-Midstream is currently seeking a PSM/Safety/Environmental Compliance Specialist is to be instrumental in ensuring proper compliance in subject areas. This will include working closely with area operations personnel and management as well as with company environmental and safety department personnel.  Additionally, the position may require scheduling and working with outside contractors/vendors providing related services, as required, to ensure all phases of compliance are being achieved.

     

    The Specialist communicates and educates employees and contractors on the company’s process safety, environmental, and risk management requirements and steward’s activities to achieve the company goals and initiatives. In addition, the Specialist manages, maintains, and may be required to submit EPA Risk Management Plans.

    Responsibilities

    • Be able to prepare and present PSM/RMP, environmental, and safety related training material and information at both small and large group meetings.
    • Promote a process safety culture by taking a leadership position to drive improvements in the PSM/RMP programs.
    • Lead and coordinate the effort for compliance with all elements of PSM for area facilities, including coordinating, maintaining, filing, and distributing associated documentation.
    • Promote an environmental and safety compliance culture by taking a leadership position to coordinate and monitor compliance documentation and to maintain files for and distribute associated documentation.
    • Demonstrate leadership in associated day-to-day compliance activities and in employee meetings.
    • Provide support, serve as a team member and be able to facilitate process hazard analysis as directed.
    • Provide support as requested on mechanical integrity activities and associated documentation, OSHA and EPA inspections of the PSM and RMP programs, respectively.
    • Guidance to operations, maintenance, and engineering for PSM/RMP, environmental, and safety compliance activities at a corporate, local, or regional level.
    • Monitor regulatory action for the PSM and RMP regulations and develops summaries and communicates changes to affected stakeholders.
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices for process safety/risk management and liaisons with operations and engineering staff on implementing best practices in the field.
    • Provides support and oversight of corporate PSM/RMP related capital projects
    • Conduct and serve as a team member of various corporate PSM/RMP audits and provide oversight in each region’s self-assessment program.
    • Provide oversight and participate on incident investigation teams as directed.
    • Provide support in the development of facility specific emergency response plans.
    • Other PSM related activities assigned by management.

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    The Specialist would have an associate or four year degree (environmental, engineering or technical degree preferred), high school graduate as a minimum, or comparable work experience in the natural gas or energy sector.

     

    Minimum five to seven (5 – 7) years operational or PSM/RMP experience is required. In addition a comprehensive working knowledge of the PSM/RMP regulation is required.  

     

    The Specialist must have natural gas processing or similar energy sector experience, and have comprehensive knowledge of OSHA’s Process Safety Regulation 1910.119 and EPA’s Risk Management Regulation40 CFR Part 68.

     

    The Specialist must also have a working knowledge of general industry related safety policies and procedures, and shall also be familiar with general environmental permit compliance for industry operation’s facilities.

     

    Candidate must have demonstrated (verifiable work reference) initiative and the ability to work with limited direct oversight. Must be formally trained in or be willing to complete such training in facilitating PHAs in addition to PSM Auditing and RMP Submission.

    Posses a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and ability to work effectively with changing priorities. Adhere to high ethical standards, function effectively as a team player, and lead others to do the same. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with changing priorities and deadlines. Able to interface efficiently with internal clients and suppliers. Proficient organizational, oral and written communication skills are required.
