  • Overview

    A leading industrial filtration manufacturer is seeking a Machine Operator to operate the JOA Pad machine as scheduled. You will perform operations efficiently, effectively and safely with minimal supervision, and monitor production to assure quality standards are met. This is a full-time, permanent role, with a benefits package provided. 

    Responsibilities

    Production Start-up (approximately 5 minutes)

    • Verify glue supply is full and ready
    • Verify glue, nozzle and hose are at the correct temperature
    • Ensure web path, nozzles, rolls and die are clean
    • Verify materials are loaded and threaded properly
    • Verify next rolls are prepared for auto splicing
    • Verify proper set up and safety conditions for production
    • Startup machine

    Production Operation

    • Ensure product quality
    • Ensure proper operation
    • Maintain machine cleanliness
    • Load, Prepare and splice raw material rolls
    • Maintain glue supply
    • Maintain material alignment
    • Maintain culled pads
    • Maintain finished pad box loading
    • Record production

    Production Shut-down (approximately 15 minutes)

    • Shut down line, make sure everything is off
    • Perform Operator Preventative Maintenance

    Quality

    • Test product at regular intervals
    • Record data in database
    • Ensure quality exceeds product specs
    • Take corrective actions immediately

     

    Troubleshooting

    • Clear and restart machine safely
    • Record downtime
    • Determine root cause of issues
    • Work with maintenance team to understand and improve process

    Uptime/Rate/Yield

    • Meet or exceed targets
    • Print reports and review daily
    • React to performance data
    • Suggest improvements

    Warehouse

    • Maintain raw material inventory
    • Count and report inventory as required
    • Maintain finished goods inventory
    • Load/Unload trucks as required 

    Skills and Experience:

    • Able to speak, read and write in English highly desired.
    • High school diploma or equivalent level of education required.
    • 2 years of machine operator experience preferred.
    • 2 years of production work in a manufacturing environment required.
    • Able to work overtime as needed.
    • Able to stand to perform tasks for prolonged periods of time.
    • Mechanical aptitude sufficient to troubleshoot equipment as needed.
    • Able to satisfy the physical, visual and auditory requirements below.
