    A leading HVAC filter manufacturer is seeking a Material Handler/Driver to load and unload trucks, move material using a forklift truck, hoist, motorized conveyor or other material handling equipment. You will be responsible for moving trailers in the yard, and between facilities, utilizing a DOT approved road truck. A Class A CDL is required for this role. 

    Responsibilities

    • Understand the product flow and processing systems as well as know the whereabouts of all storage areas.
    • Identify all raw materials and finished goods.
    • Understand material handling tasks.
    • Complete picking tickets as required.
    • Palletize and stage products per procedures.
    • Perform shipping and receiving clerical tasks as required.
    • Load and unload raw materials and finished goods according to SOP’s.
    • Perform daily maintenance and upkeep of forklift equipment.
    • Maintain a clean work area.
    • Perform duties safely and report all observed safety hazards to the supervisor.
    • Be punctual and at work daily, as scheduled.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required by the manager or group leader by operational conditions.
    • Move trailers in yard and between Facilities utilizing a DOT approved switch truck.
    • Load or assist in loading/unloading trailer with materials at both facilities to expedite processes on each end.
    • Performs miscellaneous service duties such as checking vehicle daily to ensure proper levels of oil, water, air in tires, and gasoline. Report any malfunctions or maintenance concerns to Warehouse Manager or Group Lead 

    Skills and Experience:

    • CDL required for this position
    • Ability to read and write English sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position and satisfactorily meet business demands
    • High school diploma or equivalent level of education preferred.
    • One year of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to work overtime on short notice.
    • One year of experience with and certification in the operation of a counter balance forklift and reach machine. Nominal experience with manual lift equipment preferred.
    • Basic math aptitude (ability to pass the company’s skill assessment required.)
    • Lifting ability up to 60 lbs.
    • Valid Class A Commercial driver’s license.
    • Maintain a travel log in accordance with DOT regulations.
    • Assess the needs at the beginning of each workday and plan moves and other activities to maximize overall efficiency. This will require an open line of communication with leadership at both facilities.
    • Must meet DOT physical and mental requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety sensitive employee subject to random substance screens under company policy.
    • Any time not associated with the task of moving trailers will be spent working in the warehouse in shipping/receiving at the discretion of the warehouse manager or group lead.

    While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to lift, move, and handle materials, tools, and controls. The employee is regularly required to use paper and a pen, pencil and/or keyboard to read and record data. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, walk or climb with legs and talk or hear.  The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

     

    The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or more up to 60 pounds, and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, it can be loud for periods of time while working near equipment which is in operation. Hearing protection and safety glasses may be required.  Employee must be able to hear fork truck horn.

     

    The employee must be able to work alone on a fork truck for extended periods of time. The employee must also be able to work with others as required
