  • Overview

    Purafil, a Filtration Group, is looking for a dynamic, organized Project Engineer (PE) to join our Engineering team in Doraville, GA.  As the PE, you would be tasked with working with our regional sales managers and reps to assess, design, and engineer optimum equipment solutions to eliminate odor, corrosive, and toxic environments with Purafil proprietary media.  The position could also manage the project by keeping it on schedule and ensuring that progress is aligned with the goals of the business, and the customer.  The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a desire to excel in their engineering career.  A key attribute is an ability to excel in providing world class customer service and reflect our core values in a positive manner.  This position will report to the Director of Engineering.


    • Application, design, and project engineering
      • Engineer to be responsible for reading specifications, understanding customer issues and creating engineered solutions within our equipment portfolio. Engineer to then be able to create manufacturing drawings (2D and 3D), bill of materials, and other engineering documents so that the equipment is manufactured.
      • Engineer to be responsible project management of order to deliver on-time and within cost expectations.
    • Technical customer support
      • Engineer is to understand the equipment and applications so that he/she is able to assist customers, sales, and internal team with any technical information. He/she will also have to implement root cause analysis techniques in order to solve customer issues with equipment in the field.
    • Product Innovation
      • Engineer will be tasked with designing new equipment for the market as well as redesigning existing products. While designing/redesigning, he/she must apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) techniques to reduce lead time and costs.
      • While designing, engineer will need to work with the supply chain group in order to optimize the supply chain process. This will include designing for manufacture, qualifying potential suppliers, and ensuring quality adherence from the suppliers.
    • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
      • Engineer will be responsible for creating and initiating new ideas in terms of process changes that will allow continuous improvement within Purafil.
    • Specification development and review
      • Engineer responsible for developing new equipment specifications while reviewing and updating existing ones.


    Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • 3 – 7 years of work experience, (manufacturing environment a plus)
    • Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly is highly preferred.
    • ISO experience preferred
    • HVAC experience preferred
    • Lean Six-Sigma preferred
    • Ability to travel 20%, on as-needed basis for equipment start up, inspections, customer support, and customer training
